With in excess of  20 years management experience in various sectors of the security industry, Geoffrey Williams (t/a AviCoM) has, for the past 7 years been involved in training  and, in addition to qualifying as a Department for Transport approved instructor, is an ex-SITO (Security Industry Training Organization) approved trainer. He is currently awaiting allocation on a City & Guilds 7303 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector and is also in the process of qualifying as a Security Practitioner Skills Coach (June 2008).

Geoffrey also holds a City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate for the delivery of Conflict Management Training.

Workshops are organised for individuals or groups who are not conversant with SIA (Security Industry Authority) compliance procedures and requirements. These sessions include giving advice and assistance in the following:

• Interview
• Proof of identity
• Proof of residence
• Literacy test
• Vetting and screening
• Industry advice and information

Basic Job Training (BJT) - Unit 1

• Statutory modules
• 3 days (22.5 hours)
• 1 hour examination (40 multi-choice questions, 75% pass mark)

 Communications and Conflict Management - Unit 2

• Statutory modules
• 1 day (7.5 hours)
• Scenarios and role-play
• 1 hour examination (35 multi-choice questions, 77% pass mark)

On satisfactory completion of Units 1 and 2 above, a Level 2 certificate will be issued by the appropriate Governing Body which is, required as part of the process for an SIA Licence application.
